“Chère [Dear] Lausanne,” Lausanne’s alma mater, was composed by the rector of an Episcopal church in the school's early years, appearing in school archives dating back to 1938. The song is sung to the tune of Irish poet Thomas Moore’s 1808 song, “Believe Me, If All Those Endearing Charms.”

As part of the school’s 95th anniversary and with the permission of the Alumni Board, the lyrics were updated by students, faculty and staff.

Keeping with tradition, “Chère Lausanne” is still sung during commencement at Lausanne Collegiate School.
